Building Permit Fees and Certification - Scheme for Jersey
Once the application for a Building Permit is to be made, the Approved Certifier of Design (Building Structures) may need to request a Certificate from SER Ltd.
In order to obtain a certificate, a fee must be paid. SER Ltd charges a flat rate of £35 for each certificate that is issued.
Payment may be made by Credit or Debit card on-line to SER Ltd, or by cheque. Either the Approved Certifier of Design (Building Structures) or the Approved Body for Certification of Design (Building Structures) may make the payment.
The certificate fee is a charge by SER Ltd to the client, but it is the member's responsibility to collect the certificate fee. The issue of the certificate will automatically generate an invoice to the applicant for accounting purposes. For staged permits the fee for the first certificate will be £35. Second and subsequent certificates will each cost £35
The Certifier then completes the certificate and issues it to the PED, with copies to the client (and any other relevant body) The Certifier is responsible for keeping all details in a logbook to submit to the SER Ltd for audit purposes. See 'Auditing' for further information.
