Certification of the design of Rigid Inclusion Ground Improvement Systems

SER is aware of the increased use of Rigid Inclusion Ground Improvement Systems as an alternative to conventional piling methods. As it is acceptable in most situations for piling and other ground improvement techniques to be included on Schedule 1, it is considered appropriate that it should be acceptable to also include Rigid Inclusion Ground Improvement Systems under the Schedule 1 piling category.

Withdrawal of Approved Certifier Registration Mark

As of June 2019, the Scottish Government's Building Standards Division have withdrawn permission for Approved Certifiers and Approved Bodies to use the current Approved Certifier Registration Mark.
