Firms applying to register as an Approved Body for Certification of Design (Building Structures) are required to pay an application fee of £200 + VAT

A firm must employ, on a permanent basis, at least one Approved Certifier of Design. A Body application should therefore make reference to either an existing Approved Certifier that is permanently employed by the firm, or an engineer that is in the process of applying to become an Approved Certifier.

Registration of an Approved Body is for a 5 year period initially subject to annual renewal.

Approved Bodies are required to pay an annual fee in order to maintain their membership of the Scheme. The renewal fee is £100 + VAT. A reminder email will be sent out 3 months before renewal is due. Renewals are made online via the link which will appear on your User Homepage once renewal is due.

Firms with more than 1 office or branch are required to make a separate application for each office/branch. The fee of £200 + VAT is payable for each separate application.
