Individuals applying to register as an Approved Certifier of Design (Building Structures) are required to pay an application fee of £50 + VAT
Individuals are required to be of Chartered Engineer status with either the Institution of Structural Engineers or the Institution of Civil Engineers. In general they are required to have a minimum of 5 years’ building structures design and checking experience.
Registration of an Approved Certifier is for an initial 5 year period subject to annual renewal.
Approved Certifiers are required to pay an annual fee in order to maintain their membership of the Scheme. The renewal fee is £25 + VAT. A reminder email will be sent out 3 months before renewal is due. Renewals are made online via the link which will appear on your User Homepage once renewal is due.
Approved Certifiers are subject to audit at any time to be decided as necessary by SER. Full details can be found in the Audit Procedures.
