SER has had a number of queries recently regarding how the signing of certificates was recorded prior to the introduction of the electronic signing functionality in October 2021.

Prior to this date, certificates had to be downloaded, printed and “wet” signed and dated by both the Approved Certifier and Approved Body Coordinator. It was then necessary for the signing dates to be manually entered into the certificate record on the SER website. Once this was completed, the certificate status would update to indicate that the certificate had been signed. If this step was not followed, the certificate status on the website remains at “Awaiting Signature(s)".
